Wabi Sabi - a Japanese term defined as Beauty in the Imperfect, Impermanent and Incomplete.2016 brought about a need for me to focus on increasing my efficiency. So I decided to do a one hour, daily study. These studies sometimes take more than one hour, or less. The longer studies were done over several days, in those cases...they are numbered with multiple numbers. In most cases, I stick to my one hour limit. I will repeat some favorites throughout the year to see if there is improvement. Some use reference photos, some do not. I rarely have an idea of what I'm going to draw until I sit down to "wabi sabi"...and sometimes...I have nothing in mind even while I'm drawing, allowing my subconscious to escape onto the paper. On #101, I wondered if I could draw with me left hand...it turned out pretty good! So, I practiced my left hand by itself for about two weeks...then I wondered if I could draw with both hands at once. Those can be identified because I've written "both hands" or "B.H" under my signature OR by the same # on two images...the one on the left drawn with my left hand, the one on the right with my right hand...AT THE SAME TIME! It has been a struggle some days, but all of this is to increase the speed and accuracy of my art making. I hope you enjoy. Find me on YouTube to see all the videos I post of two handed or sped up drawing.
