Read about Tony Campo below.
Tony Campo is an artist based out of Key West, Florida specializing in acrylic paintings. He is a fifth generation conch; a Key West native. Campo's ancestors immigrated to the island from Cuba in the mid 1800’s to work in the booming cigar industry. A lifelong friend of Campo’s great-grandfather, Mario Sanchez, known for his work as a Cuban-American folk artist, encouraged a young Campo to pursue his dreams as an artist.
With his family's deep roots to the island it is no surprise that Campo grew up around local art legends, friends of the family such as, Sal Salinero and George Carey.
Campo uses his hometown’s eclectic backdrops as well as its colorful cast of characters to influence his work. He incorporates the vibrant Caribbean palette into each masterpiece he creates.
